Hailing from Essex in the UK, DJ Toph is an artist heavily influenced by clubland history. Starting his love affair with dance music over two decades ago, having been exposed to the prominent sound of UKG, Toph has ventured throughout many genres drawing influence for his sound.
Toph’s style can be described as an uplifting blend of vocal House and Disco, laced with smatterings of Funk, Soul and more. Inspired by some of the most influential brands in electronic music today; Toph’s definitive sonic personality has been shaped by the likes of Defected, Glitterbox, Hed Kandi and Good Times - among others.
Citing influence from artists such as Dimitri From Paris, Melvo Baptiste, Norman Jay, Low Steppa, the Shapeshifters & Simon Dunmore, Toph has begun to build a developing back catalogue of self-released productions - with one particular track, ‘Destiny’, received major kudos from the iconic Marshall Jefferson.
A keen podcaster, Toph’s ‘House Heat’ show has already seen some relative success - boasting a 5-star rating on Apple Podcasts. The show is also gaining momentum on Spotify, Mixcloud and Soundcloud.
The Point Blank Music School graduate continues to cut his teeth in clubland, running his events in and around Essex as well as running the Silent Disco at the Kelvedon Festival every year. An artist with a rich understanding of DJing as an art form, Toph is hailed by many as a storyteller - capable of delivering the right set for any hour of the party due to his many years of experience gathered via different residencies across Europe over the last decade and beyond.
Travelling a path driven by a love for the euphoric escapism that House music offers, Toph is an integral member of his local scene, with aspirations to grow beyond and become an impactive force in the UK community and further afield.
